Waitakere United still unbeaten

6:12 am on 12 December 2010

Waitakere United remain unbeaten at the top of football's ASB Premiership after beating Waikato FC 3-1 in Hamilton while Auckland City had a 3-1 home win over Manawatu.

Sean Lovemore scored after four minutes for United before Milos Nikolic equalised 23 minutes later.

But the visitors were back in front within a minute through Roy Krishna and Allan Pearce gave them a two goal cushion just after half-time.

Auckland led 3-0 at half-time after an own-goal and with goals from Angel Berlanga and Daniel Morgan. Michael White got Manawatu's goal.

Waitakere have 18 points from six wins while Auckland move up to second with nine, one clear of Canterbury, who have a game in hand and play Otago in Dunedin this afternoon when Hawkes Bay host Wellington.
