The Wollongong Hawks basketballers have reclaimed first place on the ANBL championship ladder thanks to a 95-80 win over the Sydney Kings, while the Perth Wildcats claim fourth place after overcoming the Melbourne Tigers 87-76.
At the Sydney Entertainment Centre, Wollongong led at every break and used 15 three-pointers on a hot shooting night to continually stifle the Kings.
Tim Coenraad led all scorers for the Hawks picking up a career-high 24 points.
At Perth's Challenge Stadium, the defending champion Wildcats had to work hard to overcome Luke Nevill, Cameron Tragardh and the Tigers.
The Tigers sent a scare into the Wildcats camp but the home side responded in style to finish 11-point winners to improve to a 7-4 record and consign Melbourne to just 2-8.
Co-captain Shawn Redhage top-scored with 22 points and eight rebounds.
