Greatbach prepared to give up Black Caps coaching job

Coach Mark Greatbach says he'll fall on his sword without complaint if New Zealand cricket decide to terminate his contract following the Blackcaps humiliating 5-0 series defeat at the hands of India on the subcontinent.

The one-day series whitewash was the Black Caps second in a row after being humbled by Bangladesh 4-0 and Greatbach's role has come under increasing scrutiny with Daniel Vettori effectively captaining, coaching and selecting the team.

The formula clearly isn't working for the Black Caps and will come under strict review this week as they begin preparations for Pakistan's arrival at the end of the month.

Greatbach says if he's asked to go, he'll walk away without a fight.

The first game against Pakistan is a 20/20 international at Eden Park on Boxing Day.
