South Africa mop up India by an innings in first Test

6:47 am on 21 December 2010

The South African cricketers needed only 35 balls to claim India's last two wickets and close out a first test victory by an innings and 25 runs in Centurion.

Sachin Tendulkar was the not out batsman on 111, after achieving his 50th test century yesterday.

India will need to win the second and third tests for a first-ever away win against the Proteas, although this is only their 5th series in South Africa.

They're hoping their left arm pace bowler Zaheer Khan will be fit for the Durban test, starting on Boxing Day, after missing the opening test because of a hamstring injury.
