The centenary South African Golf Open has been won by the home hero Ernie Els who held off his countryman Retief Goosen over the final 36 holes to win the title for a fifth time.

Bad weather forced organisers to schedule two rounds on the final day, and Els won by a shot with a 25-under par total, with the British Open champion Louis Oostuizen finishing third.

New Zealand's Mark Brown tied for 23rd after a final round of 69.
