The Auckland medium pacer Michael Bates helped ensure Pakistan's cricket tour of New Zealand got off to a bad start taking four wickets as the tourists were tumbled out for only 90 in their Twenty20 warmup match before the first international at Eden Park on Sunday.

The left-armer claimed three wickets in his first two overs to reduce Pakistan to seven for three and finished with four for 11 from three overs.

Umar Akmal top-scored forPpakistan with 25 from 29 balls and although Auckland lost wickets regularly they were always on track after opener Colin de Grandhomme's quick 20 and reached the target in the 14th over.

Pakistan's bowlers were more impressive than the batsmen with paceman Shoaib Akhtar and offspinner Saeed Ajmal claiming two wickets each at Colin Maiden Park.
