Brendon McCullum to be rested for last T20 match

8:16 am on 30 December 2010

New Zealand Cricket says Brendon McCullum is recovering well from his back injury but he'll still sit out the final Twenty20 match against Pakistan in Christchurch tomorrow night.

Selector Glenn Turner says although McCullum got through the fitness test well the sensible approach is to rest him in view of the heavy workload he'll have in the test and one day series.

The final playing eleven for the third match in the Twenty20 series, which the Black Caps lead 2-0, will be selected tomorrow and announced half an hour before the match.
