The New Zealand captain Ross Taylor describes the 103-run loss to Pakistan in the third and final Twenty20 cricket international as a soft performance.
After Pakistan produced 183 for six in Christchurch New Zealand crashed to 80 all out.
The hosts had lost four wickets for three runs in the first 17 balls with Jesse Ryder, Martin Guptill, Dean Brownlie and Taylor all failing to score.
But Taylor says the pitch was wilful and almost two-paced.
Scott Styris was the only New Zealand batsmen to emerge with any credibility, top scoring with 45 to ensure they avoided achieving the lowest international Twenty20 score of 67, held by Kenya.
New Zealand had won the previous two games in the series to clinch the series.
The teams now prepare for a two-Test series, starting in Hamilton next Friday
