The Brisbane Lions coach Michael Voss admits he's pained by the damage his recruiting gamble on the controversial Brendan Fevola has brought to Lions' good reputation.
Voss is at pains to stress the AFL club will support a troubled star who's hit rock bottom after a drunk and aggressive Fevola was arrested on New Year's morning.
But there appears little, if any, chance Fevola will wear the Lions jersey this year after he was admitted to a rehabilitation clinic to help address his fragile state of mind.
Voss says the 29-year-old will spend at least a week in formal care.
