The New Zealand tennis player Marina Erakovic is predicting the first day of the first WTA tournament of the year will produce some surprises.
The ASB Classic begins in Auckland on Monday with Erakovic and fellow New Zealander Sacha Jones face tough opening rounds.
Jones will face third seed Svetlana Kuznetsova while Erakovic will dice with 2009 runner up and seventh seed Elena Vesnina.
Erakovic is non plussed about how the draw treated her and says all players won't be in top form at this time of the year.
Qualifying is continuing with no New Zealanders in action after the three teenage wild cards bundled out on Saturday.
