World champion Gary Lawson has been eliminated in the second round of post section play in the men's singles at the national bowls championships in Dunedin.
Last year's national pairs winner was beaten by Dunedin's Shaun Scott 21-9.
Commonwealth games representative Shannon McIlroy has also been ousted, losing 21-19 to Stoke club mate Peter Hodson.
In the women's pairs top ranked players Jo Edwards, Val Smith and Jan Khan have all advanced to the quarter-finals.
