QPR frustrated by draw but extend lead

English football's Championship leaders Queens Park Rangers have drawn 2-2 with Bristol City at Loftus Road but the Londoners have extended their lead at the top to five points.

Swansea, beaten 2-1 by Leicester, have been leapfrogged into the second automatic promotion place on goal difference by Norwich, who drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough.

At the bottom of the table, relegation candidates Crystal Palace have given caretaker manager Dougie Freedman a win in his first game in charge with a 1-0 victory over basement side Preston North End .

Sheffield United have stayed just above the drop spots after coming from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at home to Yorkshire rivals Doncaster.
