The Phoenix have moved to just one point outside a top six play off spot, with a two-nil win over Melbourne Victory, in their A-League football match in Wellington.
Dylan Macallister and Marco Rojas scored the goals, both of which came mid way through the second half.
The result lifts the Phoenix to 29 points, one behind the sixth-placed Melbourne Heart, but the Wellington side has a game in hand.
With seven games remaining in the regular season, the much needed win will be a confidence boost for the Phoenix with their next two games away to the third-placed Central Coast Mariners and competition leaders the Brisbane Roar.
