Arnaud Clement gets the last wild card for Auckland

Last year's Heineken Open finalist Arnaud Clement has been handed the last remaining wildcard for the men's ATP tennis tournament next week in Auckland.

Tournament director Richard Palmer's happy he's got the crowd-pleasing Frenchman back, who lost the 2010 final to big serving American John Isner.

Palmer says he'd like to have given New Zealanders Rubin Statham and Dan King-Turner wildcards.

But he says they've under-performed in the past and have two options.

One is to think they've been hard done by and the other is show him he's wrong by going through qualifying.

Richard Palmer's expecting up to seven locals to try their luck at qualifying,.
