Pro tour cyclist Julian Dean has been named New Zealand's male road rider of the year while Linda Villumsen has been named top female road rider.
BikeNZ honoured five riders at its road and track awards last night in Christchurch, the venue for this weekends national championships.
Commonwealth Games medallist, Jesse Sergeant, was awarded male track rider of the year, Alison Shanks his female equivalent with Sam Webster recognised as best emerging talent.
