Glory defender out for A-league season

6:43 am on 12 January 2011

The Perth Glory defender Chris Coyne has been ruled out for the rest of the A-League football season after scans revealed a partial tear in his right Achilles tendon.

The injury means Coyne will finish the season without a single Glory game to his name after a transfer oversight from his loan stint in China made him ineligible to play in the A-League until January.

The Glory are nine points adrift of sixth spot and the A-league playoff zone.

They next face Melbourne Heart at home on Saturday.
