The big names and tournament top seeds are in action today in the second round of the Heineken tennis Open in Auckland after second seed Argentine Juan Monaco was the first high profile player knocked out of the event yesterday.

The defending champion and 3rd seed John Isner takes on the Netherlands Robin Haase, top seed Spain's David Ferrer takes on Germany's Tobias Kamke, sixth seed Argentinean David Nalbandian squares off against Germany's Philipp Petzschner, the 7th seed Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci faces Spain's Tommy Robredo and the German 8th seed Philipp Kohlschreiber takes on Spain's Marcel Granollers.

Unseeded Romanian Victor Hanescu is first up on centre court playing the second seed Nicholas Almagro, and Hanescu says he's confident of upsetting the Spaniard who tends to perform best on clay.
