Last ball win to England

2:09 pm on 13 January 2011

England's cricketers have beaten Australia one wicket, scoring the winning runs from the last ball of their Twenty20 match in Adelaide.

The win extends the world champions' winning run in the shortest form of the game to a record eight matches.

With the scores level at 157 runs each, Chris Woakes smacked the ball over mid-wicket after what had looked like a match-winning effort from Australia's Shane Watson.

He took four for 15, including two wickets in two balls, and made 59 of 31 balls with including three successive sixes and 26 runs off Graeme Swann's first over.

The second and final match of the series is in Melbourne tomorrow night.
