England have recalled Leicester's Louis Deacon to their elite rugby squad in one of three changes in one of three injured-forced changes.

Dave Attwood will miss the first two games against Wales and Italy after being suspended for stamping, while Courtney Lawes has been ruled out of the whole tournament with a knee injury.

Deacon, who made his debut in 2005, missed the tour to Australia last year and the November internationals with a back injury but has been in great form for his club since recovering.

The uncapped halfback Joe Simpson was included in the 33-man squad, replacing his injured Wasps team-mate Dominic Waldouck, while first-five Charlie Hodgson was also added having returned to international action in November.
