One day wins to Auckland Canterbury and ND

There have been close wins for Auckland and Northern Districts in the one day cricket competition while Canterbury easily beat Otago.

Auckland beat Wellington by eight runs after making 308 in their 50 overs at Colin Maiden Park with Gareth Hopkins hitting 120.

Grant Elliott top-scored for Wellington with 73 and another Black Cap, James Franklin, made 65.

Northern Districts beat Central by one wicket with one ball to bowl in Palmerston North, after the hosts made 280 for five, George Worker top scoring with 109.

And Canterbury beat Otago by 99 runs in Queenstown after making 296 for four and dismissing the hosts in the 47th over.
