Semi-finalists decided at tennis in Auckland

The semi-finalists have been decided at the Heineken Open tennis tournament in Auckland and the defending champion John Isner isn't one of the final four, all of whom speak Spanish.

The very tall big-serving American lost to David Nalbandian of Argentina, and the former world number three will play the second seed Nicolas Almagro of Spain.

Nalbandian beat a bitterly disapointed Isner in straight sets while Almagro defeated the promising French qualifier Adrian Mannarino 7-6 6-7 6-2.

The first semi-final is between the top seed and world number seven David Ferrer of Spain and the unseeded Columbian Santiago Giraldo, who beat the Brazilian seventh seed Thomaz Bellucci in the night match.
