Wildcats too good for Hawks in ANBL final rematch

7:20 am on 15 January 2011

In a replay of last season's Australian National Basketball League Grand Final the result remained the same as the Perth Wildcats were too good for a Wollongong Hawks side decimated by injury, easily winning their ANBL clash 92-58 at Challenge Stadium in Perth on Friday night.

The Hawks were forced to suit up assistant coach Matt Flinn as they had lost the services of a number of players to injury, including superstars Gary Ervin, Glen Saville and Larry Davidson.

The win improved Perth to 11-5 and they sit in third on the Championship ladder.

The Hawks lost their fifth straight game and slumped to 9-7, dropping out of the four for the first time since the start of the season and into fifth.
