Ferrer wins Auckland tennis title

The top seed David Ferrer of Spain has won the Heineken Open men's singles tennis title in Auckland.

In the final the world number seven beat David Nalbandian of Argentina 6-3, 6-2.

It is his second Auckland title after winning there in 2007 and it is his 10th career ATP tour singles title.

Earlier the second seeded Spanish pair of Marcel Granollers and Tommy Robredo won the doubles title, beating Johan Brunston of Sweden and Stephen Huss of Australia 6-4 7-6.
