The world tennis number one Rafael Nadal has breezed into the second round of the Australian Open without dropping a single game.
Nadal was leading Marcos Daniel 6-0 5-0 when the Brazilian retired with a knee injury at Rod Laver Arena.
The Spaniard's bidding to become the first man since Australian Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four grand slam trophies at once.
He will face American Ryan Sweeting on Thursday for a place in the last 32.
