The disgraced Tour de France winner Floyd Landis says cycling authorities should legalise doping because testers will always struggle to uncover the cheats.
Landis, who retired this week, lost his 2006 Tour title after testing positive for enhanced testosterone and last year accused former team mate and seven-times Tour champion Lance Armstrong of doping.
He's told the Cycling News website the fight can't be won because the testers are so far behind and in 10 years it'll be four times as hard as it is now to test for banned performance-boosters.
Landis says the only rational response is to accept doping as it's not going away and the only concern should be the health of riders.
