Brendon McCullum drops down the order

5:10 am on 22 January 2011

The New Zealand cricket selectors have re-jigged their batting lineup for today's opening one-dayer against Pakistan in Wellington, with Brendon McCullum dropping down the order to six.

There'd been suggesions Jesse Ryder would be moved but he'll opening with Martin Guptill, followed by Ross Taylor, Scott Styris, James Franklin, Brendon McCullum, Jacob Oram, Dan Vettori, Nathan McCullum, Tim Southee and Hamish Bennett.

Although Brendon McCullum has made his name as an opener in recent years his says he didn't need any convincing to move down the order.

Dan Vettori says McCullum didn't want to argue about it, he just wanted to know what was expected of him and he'd try to get it done, which is a great attitude to have.

Jamie How will be 12th man at Westpac Stadium.
