Roger Federer is through to the quarter-finals of the Australian tennis Open - his 27th consecutive time through to the last eight at a grand slam tournament, equalling American great Jimmy Connors' record.
The defending champion was pushed to four sets by world No.52 Tommy Robredo of Spain but Federer won through 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-2 and now faces fellow Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka.
Third seed Novak Djokovic is through to the last eight after sweeping Spain's Nicolas Almagro 6-3 6-4 6-love.
Top seed Caroline Wozniacki was the first woman through to the quarter-finals in Melbourne, the Danish world No.1 defeating Anastasija Sevastova 6-3 6-4.
But the unseeded Latvian broke her in the first game to take a 2-0 lead.
Wozniacki admits it was harder than it seemed against Sevastova, it was a tough match and she's glad to make it through. She now meets French Open champion Francesca Schiavone.
Last year's semi-finalist Li Na booked her spot in the quarter-finals, the Chinese star beating Bulgaria's Victoria Azarenka in straight sets.
The ninth seed had too much firepower for the eighth-seeded Azarenka, blowing her off court in 88 minutes, 6-3 6-3.
Li now faces Germany's Andrea Petkovic in the last eight.
