Time for more points says Phoenix coach

The Phoenix have no time to celebrate their impressive 4-0 victory over Perth on Sunday night, flying out to Brisbane today for the second of three matches in a week.

In very wet conditions at Westpac Stadium the Phoenix struggled to control the ball, but controlled the scoring to move up to seventh in the standings, just one point out of the play-off picture.

There was an own-goal, while Dylan MacAlister, Vince Lia and Paul Greenacre also got on the score sheet.

The Phoenix have won only once in Australia this season, but coach Ricki Herbert says his side has to pick up points against top-of-the-table Brisbane on the Gold Coast on Wednesday.

Herbert's more than happy with the efforts of his side despite some key injuries, citing the work of tireless young winger Marco Rojas, who's seized his chance with All White Leo Bertos struggling for fitness.

They have just five matches remaining before the play-offs.

In the night's other match Central Coast and Sydney drew 2-2 with the Coast now second in the standings and Sydney ninth.
