Three changes to Black Caps after Queenstown washout

There are three changes to the New Zealand cricket team to play Pakistan in the third one dayer in Christchurch on Saturday after the selectors decided to rest the captain Dan Vettori, batsman Jesse Ryder and all-rounder James Franklin.

The Black Caps didn't get much game in Queenstown on Wednesday, the rain that delayed the start of play by an hour resuming in the fifth over when Pakistan were 31 without loss.

Selector Mark Greatbatch says they think it's important for everyone in the World Cup squad to get a run before they head to India next month.

Greatbatch says usually they'd name a squad for two matches but wanted some flexibility because of the short game in Wellington and the wash out.

Ross Taylor will captain the team, which is: Hamish Bennett, Martin Guptill, Jamie How, Brendon and Nathan McCullum, Kyle Mills, Jacob Oram, Tim Southee, Scott Styris, Kane Williamson and Luke Woodcock.

New Zealand lead the six-match series 1-0 after winning by nine wickets in Wellington.
