Another Spaniard banned for doping

Spanish cyclist David Garcia has been handed a two-year doping ban following his positive test at the Tour of Spain.

The Spanish Cycling Federation confirmed the ban for Garcia, who finished 11th competing with the Xacobeo team at 'La Vuelta', where he took the in-competition test on September 13th that turned up the banned blood booster EPO.

Garcia also returned a positive for the prohibited substance Hydroxyethyl Starch in another test.

It's yet another blow to the reputation of Spain's cyclists, coming a day after Tour de France champion Alberto Contador received notification of a one-year ban proposal for his positive test from last year's Tour de France.
