Indian captain confident ahead of hosting cricket World Cup

The Indian cricket captain says his side are confident and ready to deal with the pressure of being World Cup hosts in a cricket-mad country.

India's 1.15 billion people will put aside everything else to follow their team in the February the 19th to April the 2nd tournament, hoping Dhoni can emulate Kapil Dev's feat of leading the team to the 1983 World Cup title.

Dhoni says for once India don't feel like underdogs and concedes there will be added pressure after their recent successes but he says the players weren't thinking about things beyond their control.

Happy with the composition of his squad, Dhoni says he doesn't feel India were wrong to omit left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha.

India are in the tournament's Group B and play their first match against Bangladesh on February the 19th.
