Australia's five time Olympic gold medallist Ian Thorpe is expected to confirm he's returning to competitive swimming at a 2 o'clock media conference in Sydney this afternoon, and Australia's original comeback kid says the Thorpedo's return would be a major coup for the country.
The Northern territory's Geoff Huegill won two Commonwealth Games gold medals in Delhi after making his comeback to the sport last year, while Thorpe retired in 2006 but is reportedly back in training ahead of next year's London Olympics.
Huegill says Thorpe's return would give the Australian team's Olympic chances a massive boost.
