The Black Sticks women have won the first match in their five match series against Korea, 4-1.

Samantha Harrison and Clarissa Eshuis scored for the New Zealanders in the first half of the game in Pakuranga.

Jong Eun Kim got one back for the Koreans after the break, but two more goals - from Catheryne Finlayson and Krystal Forgesson - made it a comfortable victory for the home side.

Co-captain Kayla Sharland sat out the match nursing a quad injury, but is expected to be back for the second game, in three days time in Whangarei.
