ICC vows to host clean World Cup

7:20 am on 7 February 2011

The governing body of world cricket the ICC says it's reviewing its anti-corrpution procedures ahead of this month's world cup after imposing lengthy bans on three Pakistan players for spot-fixing.

Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer were accused of arranging for no-balls to be deliberately bowled during the Lord's test against England last August.

The three men have been banned for a total of 22 years collectively and will also face criminal charges in England, although they've always denied any wrongdoing.

The chief executive of the ICC Haroon Lorgat says they'll be doing everything to ensure the World Cup will be clean.

The world cup starts on February the 19th.
