The Formula One driver Robert Kubica has undergone seven hours of surgery in a bid to save his right hand which was partially severed in a high-speed rally crash in Italy.
26 year old Kubica's car went off the road at high speed and slammed into a church wall, and he suffered multiple fractures to his right arm, leg and hand which was crushed by the impact, placing his career in jeopardy.
