The Green Bay Packers, have won their first NFL title in 14 years beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 in Dallas.

Green Bay raced out to a 21-3 lead during the first half but the Steelers refused to surrender in their bid to claim a record seventh Super Bowl triumph.

The win is Green Bays fourth NFL title.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named the most valuable player of Super Bowl 45, in throwing three touchdowns.

Before kick off singer Christina Aguilera fumbled a line of the national anthem.

She was mildly criticised on Internet and social networking sites but there was none of the outrage caused when Janet Jackson infamously bared a breast after a "wardrobe malfunction" at the 2004 Super Bowl.

One hundred thousand people packed into the stadium although 400 spectators, who'd paid over a thousand dollars each for their seats were denied their spots after an organisation glitch in seating arrangments.

The 400 fans were offered the chance to watch the game from a standing room only area or on monitors in a club area behind the Pittsburgh Steelers bench as will as being reimbursed triple the face value of their tickets.
