Wellington cricket coach fails to have contract renewed

The coach of the Wellington cricket side Anthony Stuart won't have his contract renewed after five unsuccessful seasons in charge of the side.

Stuart, who took a one day hatrick for Australia against Pakistan in 1997, took up the role in 2006 but Wellington has failed to win any silverware in that time.

Stuart will continue coaching the side until the end of the four day Plunket Shield competition in early April.

The chief executive of Wellington Cricket Gavin Larsen says they'll carry out a review of the coaching structure before advertising for a new coach in a couple of months.
