Hussey sour after being ruled out of Australian world cup squad

Australia's Mr Cricket, Mike Hussey says he's stunned at being dropped from the World Cup squad and believes the selectors have ignored precedent, in failing to give him the opportunity to recover from injury.

Hussey was Australia's top batsman in the recent Ashes series and selected for World Cup despite suffereing a hamstring injury in a one-dayer against England last month.

However yesterday Cricket Australia decided they weren't prepared to take a chance on him recovering in time and he was replaced by Callum Ferguson.

Hussey says he's shocked by the decision and as he expected to be fit for the second match of the tournament and definitely for the third.

Hussey says he should've been given the same chance as allrounder Andrew Symonds had at the tournament four years ago when Symonds missed the early part of the tournament through injury.

Australia, who have won the last three World Cups.
