The former Pakistan cricket captain Salman Butt, who was banned for 10 years this week by an anti-corruption tribunal, has been signed up to to give expert TV commentary at the World Cup.

Butt was banned by the International Cricket Council along with pace bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer following spot-fixing charges relating to the Lord's Test against England last August.

It remains to be seen whether the ICC objects to Butt's involvement.
