The French footballer David Trezeguet's shirt from France's World Cup final win over Brazil in 1998 has been destroyed by French customs officers, who wrongly thought it was a fake.

A collector bought the shirt from a Brazilian over the internet and paid $14 thousand but says when he went to collect it customs officials told him it had been destroyed because it was counterfeit.

He's now trying to get Customs to reimburse him.
