Halberg judge says the All Whites not worthy winners

A member of the Halberg voting panel says the All Whites aren't worthy winners of the Halberg Supreme sports award and he'll be resigning from his post.

The 1974 Commonwealth Games, 10 thousand metre gold medallist Dick Tayler, is a member of the 28 strong voting panel made up of former athletes and media.

He says the All Whites failed to win anything and didn't even get past the group stage of the World Cup in South Africa.

Tayler says the All Blacks with their Tri Nations success, the Kiwis and their Four Nations rugby league win or the world champion rowing pair of Hamish Bond and Eric Murray would have been much worthier recipients.
