The American golf star Tiger Woods is reported to have received 73 million dollars from a Dubai developer to promote a local golf resort which is yet to be built.

Arabian Business magazine claims they have seen documents confirming Woods received the payments to promote the 1.3 billion dollar course which was to be the showpiece of a complex of 100 villas, 75 mansions and 22 palaces.

Woods has refused to comment on the contract he signed with the course developer - part of a conglomerate controlled by Dubai's debt-squeezed ruler.
