Hodgson unsure on West Brom survival

Roy Hodgson has been unveiled as the new coach of the English football Premier League strugglers West Bromwich Albion.

Hodgson, sacked by Liverpool last month, replaces Roberto di Matteo after the Italian coach was dumped following a run of 13 defeats in 18 matches in all competitions.

He says he didn't expect to work so quickly and it'd be foolish to make rash statements about his new club's chances of avoiding relegation.

West Brom threw away a 3-0 half-time lead at the weekend to draw 3-3 at home to West Ham, leaving them above the relegation zone on goal difference.

They host the bottom club Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.
