Manly trio unlikely to play against Warriors

Manly are unlikely to risk injured trio Jamie Lyon, Shane Rodney and Brett Stewart in next weekend's National Rugby League pre-season match against the Warriors at North Harbour stadium.

The club will find out the seriousness of Jamie Lyon's strained ankle ligaments tomorrow but they are prepared to give him as much rest as possible before their season-opener against Melbourne next month.

Coach Des Hasler says Lyon who injured his ankle in Saturday's NRL All Stars match will be right for the opening round.

The Sea Eagles will also be without the suspended duo Steve Matai and Glenn Stewart, although the latter will be eligible to play Melbourne after serving the last of his four-game ban in the Warriors trial.

The Warriors play the Gold Coast side, the Burleigh Bears, in a trial match in Whangarei this weekend.
