The former All Black Ali Williams will make his return to super rugby after an injury-enforced absence of nearly two seasons when the Blues host the Crusaders in Auckland on Saturday night.
Coach Pat Lam has named a strong side with number eight Chris Lowrey the only forward not to have played for the All Blacks -- centre Jared Payne and first-five Stephen Brett are the only backs in that category.
Williams, who had two serious Achilles tendon injuries, will lock the scrum with Anthony Boric and Keven Mealamu will captain the side.
With Payn staying at centre Isaia Toeava will be at fullback in his 50th game for the Blues with Joe Rokocoko and Rene Ranger on the wings and Benson Stanl;ey at second-five.
