In-experience on subcontinent not an excuse for Black Caps

7:41 am on 18 February 2011

The New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris says the Black Caps are familiar with the Indian, Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi pitches having played their numerous times over the past few years, and says they have no excuses for poor performances at the World Cup.

Styris and co face Kenya in Chennai on Sunday in their first match of the tournament, and the Black Caps will be desperate to recapture some momentum against the African minnows after being thrashed by India in their final warm-up match on Wednesday.

Styris knows it won't be easy against the scrappy Kenyans, but says the Black Caps will have only themselves to blame if they come up short in Chennai.
