Breakers coach wants more tough games down stretch

12:02 pm on 18 February 2011

The Breakers basketball coach Andrej Lemanis says last night's hard fought 82-79 come from behind win over the Perth Wildcats is exactly the kind of game the New Zealanders need as they head into the business end of the ANBL season.

With just six weeks remaining until the post-season the top of the table Breakers continue to put further distance between them and the chasing pack racing out to a record 7-match winning streak and at 17 wins from 20 games they're five wins ahead of nearest rivals the Townsville Crocodiles.

The Breakers were made to work hard by the defending champion Wildcats at the North Shore Events Centre last night, and Lemanis says his side couldn't have hoped for a better workout.

The Breakers next travel to the Gold Coast to face the Blaze on Sunday.
