The Wellington Phoenix have been eliminated from the A-League football play-offs after losing 1-0 at Adelaide.
Adelaide captain Travis Dodd scored after 70 minutes.
The Reds advance to meet the winner of the other elimination final between Melbourne Victory and Gold Coast United.
Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert was disappointed, not with his team's display, but with the fact that he felt they should have won the game.
Herbert says for the first 45 minutes there were the only team in it and they needed to do something and didn't.
He says they gave themselves chances but were lacking that x factor in the front third of the pitch.
Herbert says it was a difficult season for a variety of reasons but they fought their way into the top six and on the night's performance felt they should have gone further.
