Rowing star Mahe Drysdale has lost his grip on the National single sculls title after losing out to Nathan Cohen in the final of the men's race on Lake Ruataniwha.
Cohen, from the Invercargil club, pulled away from the six-time champion over the last 500 metres to claim his first National singles title.
Emma Twigg of Hawke's Bay won her third straight women's single sculls title.
