White Ferns up 2-1 in Rose Bowl

The White Ferns have beaten Australia by 14 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the Twenty20 women's cricket Rose Bowl series Queens Park in Invercargill.

The White Ferns made 147 for five in their 20 overs, with Sara McGlashan and Amy Satterthwaite puting on 97 for the third wicket, McGlashan top-scoring with 62 and Satterthwaite making 45.

Australia made a steady start but at 73 for three.Nicola Browne picked up two wickets in two balls to swing the momentum firmly New Zealand's way.

Browne was the best of the New Zealand bowlers, taking two for 24 off four overs while Kate Broadmore picked up two for 19 off three.

The final Twenty20 match is today in Invercargill, then there are three 50-over matches at Lincoln with the series decided across both formats.
